Healing Starts In The Unseen

When people think about healing, they often think about treatments, therapies, medications, or the passage of time. While those things can certainly help, I’ve come to believe there is another factor that often makes all the difference: the “IT” factor.

The IT factor isn’t one single thing. It’s the combination of intention, hope, attitude, belief, mindset, patience, and perseverance. These qualities become the foundation that supports us when the journey feels difficult and uncertain.

Intention: Where Healing Begins

Healing starts long before you ever take action. It begins in your heart as a feeling, and then in your mind as determination.

There may be times when you have absolutely no idea how you’re going to get yourself out of a difficult situation. I’ve been there myself. But I’ve learned that the path often begins to reveal itself once you make the decision to heal.

“When your intention is clear, so is the way.”

Intention is simply deciding that you want something different for yourself. It gives direction to your thoughts, your energy, and your actions, even when the destination isn’t fully visible yet.

Attitude: The Power of Hope

Hope is what sustains us when we have nothing else.

It’s the quiet belief that things can get better, even when there is little evidence in front of us to prove it. Hope doesn’t mean pretending everything is okay. It means trusting that today’s circumstances don’t have to define tomorrow.

I’ve also found that gratitude plays an important role. Even on the hardest days, finding something to be grateful for can shift your perspective and remind you that progress is still possible.

In many cases, it’s not just the illness or challenge itself that shapes the outcome, but the attitude and mindset we bring to the journey.

Belief: Fuel for Change

Intention may start the journey, but belief is what keeps it moving forward.

Adding fire to your intentions is the belief that you are capable of healing, growing, and creating change in your life.

“Belief gives you the power to achieve the extraordinary.”

When you truly believe healing is possible, you begin to show up differently. You take the next step, and then the next. Over time, those small steps begin to add up.

Mindset: From Powerless to Powerful

One of the biggest shifts in healing is moving from feeling powerless to feeling powerful.

For many of us, there are moments when we feel stuck, defeated, or convinced that change is out of reach. But healing requires a different mindset—one that says, “I can do this.”

Not just as a thought, but as something you genuinely feel.

Much like overcoming an addiction, your desire to heal has to become stronger than your desire to stay where you are. It has to become more than a wish. It has to become something you truly want.

Patience and Perseverance

If there’s one thing healing has taught me, it’s patience.

We live in a world that loves quick results, but healing rarely works that way. Some days you’ll feel like you’re making great progress. Other days it may feel like you’re standing still.

That’s where perseverance comes in.

There will be setbacks and challenges along the way, but what matters most is continuing to move forward, even if it’s one small step at a time.

Knowing your “why” can make all the difference. Why do you want to heal? Why do you want a better life?

For me, the answer ultimately came down to self-love. Believing that I was worth the effort. Believing that I deserved to heal.

And so do you.

My Experience

My own healing journey taught me that healing is just as much an inner process as it is a physical one.

There were times when I couldn’t see the finish line. Times when progress felt slow and frustration felt easier than hope. But what kept me going was the belief that things could improve, even when I couldn’t yet see how.

Looking back, I realize that healing wasn’t just about overcoming what I was facing. It was about becoming stronger, more resilient, and more connected to myself.

The IT factor isn’t found in a treatment, a therapy, or a quick fix.

It’s found within you.

It’s your intention.

Your hope.

Your attitude.

Your belief.

Your mindset.

Your patience.

And your perseverance.

Together, they have the power to transform not only how you heal, but who you become along the way.
